2/3/06 - Winter Tour '06Today was the annual ACE winter tour of Dorney Park, with a special surprise: a tour of one of the maintenance buildings! The tour started with a walk up the employee parking lot to the new maintenance building. Inside attendees got an up-close look at the winter rehab of Hydra's trains and a Steel Force train. It's amazing how many parts there are to these things! Following the tour of the maintenance building the group proceeded back down the employee parking lot and into the park, making a loop up to Hydra, the main entrance, and back down to Thunderhawk, Revolution and the lower midway before heading out. The tour turnout was great, and as always, walking through a park in the winter was pretty neat to see.
A ton of photos were taken on the tour. Photos include shots of the stuff inside the maintenance building as well as park shots, including retracking of Thunderhawk and the site of the former Dorney Mansion/Gold Mine building.
Huge thanks goes to Dorney Park for once again inviting everyone to this great tour, as well as allowing us to take pictures! Special thanks to Public Relations Manager Heather Kramer and the maintenance department for having us!
